Hughes Health’s Sandra Dinnall-Nevin Recognized for Excellence in Nursing

Hughes Health & Rehabilitation’s Sandra Dinnall-Nevin, RN, was among area nursing professionals recognized with the 2016 Greater Hartford Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing at a gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Connecticut Convention Center on May 5.

The Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing were created by the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut to celebrate outstanding nurses and the profession. The goals of the program are “to encourage retention, inspire future nurses, focus public attention and recognize the breadth and scope of nursing at the local level.”

“From the first day Sandra joined our staff she demonstrated a commitment to success,” said Mark Finkelstein, vice president of Hughes Health.

Among her many accomplishments at Hughes, Sandra is known as an excellent educator and a hard worker. She single-handedly and successfully converted 170 patient charts seamlessly to ICD10 coding with virtually no assistance.  Sandra is also respected for her kindness and heart-felt interest in Hughes’ resident and their families.

Since 2003, the Greater Hartford Nightingale Awards Gala has honored nearly 1,200 nurses and has awarded $64,000 in nursing scholarships to local nursing students.

Congratulations, Sandra, on your well-deserved recognition. We are all proud of you at Hughes!
